I am extremely disappointed with my experience with ECMC's Emergency Dental Clinic. I called at 7:59 a.m., as instructed, to schedule an emergency appointment. I was placed on hold for 38 minutes, only for someone to finally answer and tell me that there were no more available appointments. How is a patient supposed to receive emergency dental care when they're told to call at 8:00 a.m., but spend over half an hour on hold while all of the appointments are filled? That process is completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, when I tried to ask questions about what I should do next, the staff member hung up on me. Hanging up on patients who are seeking emergency care is unprofessional and disrespectful. ECMC needs to improve both its scheduling process and the level of customer service being provided. Patients deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect, especially when they are in pain. I would appreciate a message back regarding both my complaint and an update on how this issue will be addressed.

Very rude people; impossible to make an appointment I called at 8:15. The lady told me I should've called at 8 o'clock. I've been trying for four business days now. They just don't care about people. Supposed to be an emergency place and you can't make an emergency appointment. Place is a total failure. 👎

When I called to get an appointment I explained my whole situation and what I was coming in for I needed an oral surgeon. They set me up with an appointment that took me waiting over a month to come to. I came in I didn't wait long in the waiting room, but was put into the exam room and waited over an hour for a dentist to see me. the poor hygienist apologized to me several times saying that she didn't have a dentist assigned to her, so she just had to get one when they were available. I sat there and watched the room across from me have three people come in and out before I was even seeing by a dentist. Finally a dentist examined me and told me my treatment plan, like my normal dentist, I was confused. when I told her my main reason for coming in was that I was told I needed an oral surgeon that the problem I have with my teeth cannot be done by a normal dentist because it was connected to my sinuses. That's why I came to ECMC. She told me that oral surgeon department was shut down. So I was scheduled came to the appointment and sat there for hours even though I had explained my situation to several people and nobody told me that the oral surgery department had been shut down, did

I wish i could give less than one star. I have never rsted or reviewed anything in my life but this is absolutely one of the most unprofessional places of business, good luck making an appointment or receiving basic respect over the phone while trying to do so. Judging by other people's experiences it seems that there is only one or two representatives at any time to answer the phone. You have to wait anywhere between 20 and 90 minutes to reach someone only for them (her) to be disgustingly disrespectful and unhelpful. My representative told me she was unable to schedule an appointment because she "did not have the appointment schedule", which is strange because the purpose of that line is to schedule appointments, but i have a feeling she didn't want to have to do her job because it was 15 minutes before they close (keep in mind i called ahead of time but was on hold for over an hour and it got later in the day). She told me i was GOING to call her back at 8am tomorrow and she could schedule me then. I'm certainly looking forward to being on hold and wasting another 2 hours of my life to be spoken down to by an unprofessional secretary.

Updating my review: place is hard to get into for an emergency but I get it, they're the only place you can go and there are a lot of people with dental emergencies in the Buffalo region. It took me a while but I finally got in and my tooth pulled. I had my first great night sleep in months. During the whole time I was trying to get an appointment I only had pleasant experiences with staff, everybody was always nice even on the phone. They got me in, listened to what I had to say, then pulled the tooth like i wanted/needed. I am grateful for their service as I can't get a single dentist in the area to give me a call back and I am finally no longer in pain.
